More People, More Places, More Films

This audience development support programme is designed to enable innovative, adventurous and accessible cultural film programming Wales wide, helping exhibitors to invest regularly in bold British and international film choices, generating in-depth audience participation.

Our priorities include young audiences aged 16-30, screen heritage, equality and inclusion. Read our guidelines below to find out if your idea is eligible for support.

Thanks to National Lottery Funding for the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN), we place two open calls annually for projects that aim to bring more British and international films, to more people, in more places across Wales. Please see the guidelines for more information.

We also offer the following opportunities year round:

  • Made in Wales – Strategic Projects and Pitch Pots for films with Welsh connections.
  • Festivals – Innovative festivals or networks that meet one or more FHW priorities.
  • New Film Releases – marketing support for some of the best independent and foreign films.
  • Bursaries – Training and skills.

Members can apply to all of the above offers. We also offer networking events, training courses, marketing support, film news and the opportunity to participate in national film seasons via Major Programmes.
