Creating Digital Cinema Packages with Peter Wilson

Film Hub Wales have teamed up with Chapter to host a bespoke DCP training day/workshop for cinemas and we’re delighted to announce that the event will be led by Peter Wilson (read more here), a specialist in hi-tech consultancy, training and the founder of High Definition & Digital Cinema Ltd, (HDDC). Peter has a vast career spanning over 30 years and has industry links with Screen Skills (formerly Creative Skillset) and the Event Cinema Association (ECA).

About the training:

This training will be based on Peter’s previous training sessions and his lecturing in Cinema Technology at Southampton Solent University. Peter will also cover the reasons the industry made the major change to Digital Movie distribution and the system they created and will cover aspects such as:

  • Digital Source Master files,
  • Content preparation,
  • DCP formats & construction and,
  • High level security aspects.

Who can attend?

This one-day training event at Chapter (Cardiff) is aimed at Cinema Operators in Independent Cinemas and those who may be required from time to time to create Digital Cinema Packages for their own operation and others. This is an introductory course to DCP making and will include DCP basics, leading to an intermediate level of understanding of DCP creation.

Spaces are limited, early booking advised.
