The Lighthouse

SYNOPSIS

At the end of the 19th century, off the coast of Wales, two men find themselves trapped in an isolated lighthouse cut off from the outside world. As the storms rage and relief seems impossible, a terrible tragedy befalls one of the keepers leaving the survivor fighting to stay sane in a nightmarish situation.

Based on one of the most infamous true stories in Welsh maritime history, this is a gripping psychological thriller starring Michael Jibson and Mark Lewis Jones (Stella, The Passing). Directed by Chris Crow (Panic Button)

FEEDBACK

This film was screened for members at one of our Welsh Film Preview Days. Here is their feedback:

Average rating: 3.5/5

“Beautifully shot, atmospheric, well acted. Gripping…”

“A total cinema film – would never work as well on a small screen – powerful experience”

“A very interesting story that’s quite famous, strange it hasn’t been made into a film before. Good to see a genre title from Wales.”

“The Lighthouse is a welcome beacon of quality in a genre that is often happy to rely on cheap tricks and easy scares, and offers much more, amply rewarding those who are willing to embrace its blunt and brittle world” 8/10 – Starburst Magazine
